World’s largest steam train Big Boy No. 4014 comes to Roseville

Roseville is set to host the world’s largest steam train from July 12 to 13, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.The steam locomotive Big Boy No. 4014 will be on display for public viewing as part of Union Pacific’s “Bog Boy Westward Bound” tour.The tour honors the railroad’s legacy and celebrates the employees and communities it serves. During the tour, the train will make 19 whistle-stops in five states from Wyoming to California.Look for the “Experience the Union Pacific” rail car at the event for a walk-through exhibition that gives the attendees a glimpse into the history of railroading through sound, images and interactive tech.Alongside the 1.1-million-pound steam train, the city is hosting additional activities at Vernon Street Square between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday.
